Connectivity is not a given
Farms, depots, and remote sites routinely lose signal. If your field app assumes Wi-Fi, operators invent paper workarounds — and your system of record becomes fiction by lunchtime.
Offline is a UX problem first
Queueing writes is the easy part. The hard part is making status obvious: what is local, what is pending, what conflicted. Field users need short sessions, large targets, and zero ambiguity about whether a task was captured.
Sync with intent
When connectivity returns, push blindly and you get silent overwrites. Define conflict rules per entity, surface exceptions to office roles, and keep presence so managers know which devices are still catching up.
